Virago TCI Ignition Module Photos.
Here are some photos of the Virago TCI module...

This is the inside of the unit that I recondition most often...

This is a TCI module from a Virago 500 series model which I am able to recondition. Notice that it has the same number and style of connectors as the one above. One cable connection has 6 pins and the other one has 4 pins.

If you have one of the following TCI modules, I am sorry but I cannot recondition these at this time.

This first one is from Viragos that are earlier than 1983.

This is a much newer model but I am not sure exactly when they started using them. I believe it was around 1992. You will have to open your unit and look at it to be sure which style it is. The outside of the case looks like one that I can recondition, however.

There is one more style that I cannot repair which is from the 1000 or 1100 Virago. It looks similar to the 500 series units but differs in that one of the connectors has a place for 8 pins instead of 6 and the other connector still has 4 pins. It also has the word "Igniter" molded on the side.

If have one of the modules that I cannot repair you may have some luck repairing the problem by cleaning/tightening/reseating every electrical connection that you can find. It only takes a small bit of corrosion to cause problems! The 1000/1100's also have a vacuum advance module. Make sure that the vacuum hose is good to that unit.

If you find you need to replace the module, here are some salvage yards that may have the part...
